The Automation Architect is responsible for developing and executing Businessolver’s long term test automation strategy with an emphasis on load and performance testing. The Automation Architect will work with department heads, stakeholders, and Engineering teams to ensure our test automation requirements are clearly understood for each project. This individual will guide our engineers to testing best practices and to optimize our current processes to achieve maximum coverage at minimum cost.

The Gig:

  • Define testing requirements for large projects
  • Help to architect Businessolvers Load/Performance testing solution
  • Develop and implement Load/Performance tests
  • Implement a Load/Performance testing solution to enable accurate capacity forecasting
  • Provide training and mentorship to other engineers who will contribute to load testing
  • Ownership of test automation architecture including the support of existing automation and designing new automation architecture to support Businessolver’s long term technical direction
  • Supports automation script development and the optimization of those scripts.
  • Recommends new tools, techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Experience in architecting and building real-time, large scale SAAS applications.
  • To work with the test automation team to resolve technical issues of the product as needed.
  • Improve coverage and optimize automation while reducing cost of fixing bugs by pushing tests “down the pyramid”

What you need to make the cut:

  • BS in Computer Science + 5 years of test engineering experience OR
  • 8+ years test engineering experience with successful track record of high coverage low cost test automation (without a BS in Computer Science)
  • Experience with load testing tools such as Jmeter, Loadrunner or LoadUI
  • Experience implementing a load and performance testing strategy in a hybrid (prem/cloud) environment, demonstrating system break points and enabling proper capacity forecasting
  • Experience defining and implementing an automation strategy involving unit, integration, and regression tests for an existing platform, or greenfield development
  • Experience in automation tools such as Jmeter, JUnit, TestNG, Selenium
  • Specific experience with UI and/or API test automation
  • Experience with Java Test Automation framework using Cucumber for test scripting
  • Proficiency in one or more of the languages: Java, PYTHON, XML, XSL Good knowledge in object-oriented programming concepts
  • Experience with Version Control such as Git, etc.
  • Solid application security knowledge and best practices in the cloud context
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

The pay range for this position is 112K to 140K per year (pay to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data).

This role is eligible to participate in the annual bonus incentive plan.
