Senior Technical Project Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a Procurement Manager with experience of MEA markets and regulations to establish and manage relationships with global and regional suppliers to ensure we have an end to end Supply Chain to support Network projects in the region. You will work with the local PMO, Senior PMs and Project Managers to ensure hardware is available on budget and on time to deliver the customer projects. You will negotiate supplier agreements and pricing to ensure best value for Planet/Hoist projects. You will work with the Regional Finance Director to ensure that project budgets are maintained.

What you will do

Develop category strategies to fit current and future requirements

Liaise with the key stakeholders based on the agreed areas to:

• Understand technical requirements
• Ensure a structured and data-driven sourcing process
• Drive logical and fact-based decisions in terms of supplier selection, ensuring TCO is minimised/ tangible and quantifiable benefits are maximised
• Use the approved sourcing methodology to finalise the projects
• Facilitate setup and operation of cross-functional project teams to support sourcing projects and the subsequent implementation
• Identify and screen potential supplier base
• Shortlist suppliers and conduct RFP/RFQs, optimizing/creating and using Planet standard tools
• Develop evaluation models and score responses, present findings and agree shortlists for negotiation stage
• Prepare and manage a fact-based negotiation process and supplier selection based on total cost/value
• Benchmark, track savings and restart assessment cycle
• Assess company spend (what is bought, where, at what prices?) to identify areas of opportunity: estimate potential savings, assess ease of capture, and outline yearly sourcing plan

Manage supplier relationships on behalf of Planet by:

• Ensuring suppliers adherence to agreed T&C
• Develop improvement plans for non-performing suppliers and /or identify alternatives
• Monitor overall performance and look for new opportunities that will bring the costs down and/or improve the quality of the deliverables
• Ensure structured supplier performance and compliance feedback
• Ensure adherence to category strategies, guidelines, and policies with timely escalation to the Head of Operations - MEA Region for non-compliance issues that do not find resolution.

Critical experience and competencies

• A sound understanding and use of procurement best practice across diverse indirect spend categories.
• Proven track record of successful project management and/or savings delivery in a fast-paced procurement function
• Experience of working on a project basis, leading, and implementing a broad range of purchasing projects
• Successful track record of leading complex negotiations
• Experience of working in an international, multi-cultural environment
• Comfortable with end-to-end procurement platforms
