- Oversee the management and maintenance of our DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM) infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of DDI services.
- Implement DNS changes and updates aligned with business requirements.
- Provision new domains, networks, ACLs, templates, subnets, special resource records, and DHCP scopes on internal systems.
- Track issues via incident and problem resolution tickets related to DNS, DHCP, and NTP Services.
- Collaborate with other senior team members to design and implement DNS strategies.
- Ensure DNS security by implementing best practices, identifying vulnerabilities, applying patches, and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide engineering solutions for network monitoring and alarming.
- Develop self-service tools for application and infrastructure clients to gain better visibility of real-time network health and performance.
- Document all procedures related to DNS management and operations.
- Provide on-call support for critical business escalations.
- Offer technical support and training to internal and other team members as necessary.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Requirements
Basic Qualifocations
8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM) in an enterprise network, with a solid understanding of DNS and DHCP concepts.
• Working experience in supporting DDI solutions and IPAM systems (VitalQIP ESM/AMS product).
• In-depth knowledge and experience with the latest BIND configuration and policy.
• Working experience in RHEL, Sybase, Rocky Linux, DNS DHCP IPAM professional, VitalQIP IP Management, ESM DR/HA, and Appliance Management.
• Knowledge of network technologies, i.e., routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, network (public vs. private IP space), CIDR, and routing protocols.
• Good understanding and ability to optimize platforms and technology used in monitoring networks, including but not limited to SNMP, syslog, and probing.
• Experience implementing engineering solutions for network monitoring and alarming tools, leveraging vendors such as Netcool, IBM SevOne/ITNM, Solarwinds, Netscout, Netbrain, and Thousandeyes.
• Understands monitoring technologies, i.e., Splunk, SNMP, Traps, Syslogs, and others.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, i.e., Perl, Shell scripting on UNIX/Linux OS.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex DNS and monitoring issues.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
