- The Biofoundry. Lesaffre is establishing the first industrial Biofoundry in France. It’s gathering an international team of motivated, risk-taking scientists and engineers to merge biology, engineering, automation, and computer science to improve microorganism engineering, screening, and selection for a wide portfolio of industrial biotechnology applications (baking, brewing, bioethanol, flavors and fragrances, food and feed, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals).
- The Automation team. As a transversal support team, our mission is to automate, integrate and develop solutions to accelerate the innovation.
In the context of a new position, we are looking for a Software Automation Research Scientist.
Your main mission will be :
- Take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining the Biofoundry's software infrastructure.
- Develop custom software for robotic workstations and data automation.
- Develop solutions using our internal development environment and our LIMS APIs.
- Collaborate with other teams within R&D to interface our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) with others.
- Troubleshoot software issues, using analytical tools to identify and document defects and participate in root cause analysis.
- Animate our programming community within the Biofoundry.
- Conceive innovative software solutions that enable effective laboratory automation, ensuring the Biofoundry runs efficiently and reliably.
- Participate in the Biofoundry Operational excellence by monitoring and maintaining permanent running services.
- Help other automation engineers for any embedded software development.
Requirements
- Master's degree in computer science, robotics, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in developing and maintaining software infrastructure.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python, C++ and SQL (others like JS, VBS or C# are also appreciated).
- Experience with Git, API developments, user interface design, Jupyter.
- Experience in software development in both Linux and Windows.
- Proficiency in databases and statistical analysis software tools.
