The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Test Automation Engineer:

To take a leading role in the development of quality Gentrack products by sharing knowledge and mentoring team members and other developers across teams in best testing practice. Be fully competent across the range of testing that we carry out including automation, api, and performance testing. Leading by example in the pursuit of excellence in all areas is fundamental to this role. To identify and advocate for improvements to our test framework, processes and products.

  • Support the Global Sustainability Task Force (GSTF) for your respective region. Enable your people to engage and partake in events.
  • Encourage awareness of and behaviours aligned to our Sustainability Charter.
  • Utilise our sustainability platform (Giki) by taking part in challenges and improving behaviours to be more sustainable. Driving competition and supporting your teams to engage.

The Specifics

  • Support BAU activities by creating and executing detailed test cases.

  • Support test activities including identification of test conditions, creation and execution of test cases for project work.

  • Communicate effectively with the Test Senior, development and management teams when required.

  • Understand the operating procedures of the Test processes within Gentrack.

  • Identify areas of improvement in the testing life cycle and share the same with the Test Senior / Lead to reduce time to deployment and ensure quality of test deliverables.

  • Documenting mildly complex processes or procedures you identify that may be of benefit to other testers.

  • Participating in planning, stand-ups, estimation, retrospectives and backlog grooming as appropriate.

  • Invest in personal training and development to maintain and advance your performance overtime.

What we're looking for (you don’t need to be a guru at all, we’re looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you):

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related degree or comparable professional development and commercial experience.
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification

Experience: 5+ years

Technical Skills:

• 5+ Years of experience as a Test Automation Engineer or related role
• Expert in - Programming language experience - Excellent in OOPs, collections, and design patterns.
• Hands on with Programming language Coding, TestNG
• Experience with Testing Methodologies
• Experience in Testing techniques, test design techniques, test suites
• Design patterns: Singleton, page object, factory
• Hands on APIs Testing- Rest/Rest Assured
• Experience in API Testing - Understanding of client-server architecture and communication principles.
• Knowledge of Test Automation Pyramid
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail, critical thinking, solid communication
