Overview

We are looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join our growing data community and enable our clients to implement and sustain effective enterprise data strategy governance. Our data professionals are team-oriented, collaborative, and focus on delivering value in everything we do. We support our clients in their data and analytics needs – from vision to roadmap to execution.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with data governance board, business stakeholders data, security and privacy teams to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business context and objectives by, among other things, eliciting and prioritizing data needs
  • Advise and guide organizations on appropriate data standards, policies and processes to support increasing data quality
  • Ensure policies and controls are properly defined, communicated and implemented to manage appropriate use of critical data assets
  • Build and maintain an enterprise data catalog, enterprise data dictionary, business glossary, data lineage and champion adoption across the organization
  • Identify, build and maintain data quality reporting to support data quality standards and increase user confidence in data assets
  • Promote data governance awareness and engage with data stewards to implement enterprise stewardship practices
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize usage and usability, and reduce redundancy of data products
  • Monitor, prioritize and resolve data issues and remove impediments to the use of data assets
  • Define key performance indicators and deliver reports and action plans to guide data governance initiatives

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. (focus in Computer Information Systems, Business Management, Engineering, or related area of study is a plus)
  • 5+ years experience in IT or related industry.
  • Experience leading data governance or stewardship programs
  • Experience with leading vendors and tools providing data cataloging/inventory, metadata management and stewardship capabilities
  • Preferred experience with Collibra or other data governance products such as Precisely, AWS Glue Data Catalog, Alation, Informatica, etc.
  • Intermediate/Advanced SQL skills
  • Prior consulting or client management experience preferred
  • Strong analytical aptitude and ability to structure complex or undefined business problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to report and present findings to varying stakeholders
  • Knowledge of change management concepts and approaches
  • Knowledge and practice of core Agile values and principles a plus
  • Initiative to learn new strategies and trends to continue to educate self analytically, technically, and technologically
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Understanding of DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) and the capabilities within the DORA capability catalog is encouraged
