System Integration Engineer

As an integration engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on automotive testing systems for external and internal customers. These test systems include electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components etc. The responsibilities include logistics and site preparation for system builds both onsite and offsite locations. Coordinate with internal and external teams to plan and execute the system builds.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Receive and organize components of automotive test systems.
  • Maintenance of Inventory documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors to receive status and delivery updates on the materials ordered, and shipping arrangements between vendors.
  • Perform part inspections as needed utilizing measuring tools like calipers, micrometers and bore gauges etc.
  • Prepare and supervise system builds, installations at UTAC and the customer facilities.
  • Work with vendors on facilities, installations, and equipment rigging.
  • Communicate with customers for site preparation, labor, power etc.
  • Work on, in and around industrial machines while following applicable safety protocols according to OSHA and other applicable standards.

Requirements

Education and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in the automotive industry required.
  • Fluency in the English language is required.
  • Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills required.
  • Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.).
  • Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area.
  • Working knowledge of the automotive industry preferred.
  • Experience in the vehicle testing and validation industry preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organization skills.
  • Able to function as part of a team, with members of varying job levels, and work cooperatively toward team goals.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for traveling between multiple work sites as needed.
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Required on-site work as needed
  • Give and accept instructions and tasks in a positive manner, treating all co-workers with dignity and respect.
  • Consistently adhere to, and support all UTAC policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Physical Demands:

  • Exposure to industry accepted chemicals and noise.
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
  • Able to lift and/or move materials as needed in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Requirements include, but are not limited to stand, walk, sit, twist, bed, life, see, speak, hear.
  • May require occasional travel (locally, nationally, internationally).
