About the role

As an Engineering Manager at Simetrik, you will lead and manage a team of talented engineers to drive technical excellence and contribute to the success of our product. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our engineering efforts are strategically aligned with business objectives and contribute to the overall growth and success of the company.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead, motivate, and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and excellence culture. You'll develop personalized learning plans for team members to enable skill growth and career development.

  • Ensure that technical decisions and project priorities align with the company's overarching strategic goals, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers and stakeholders to translate business objectives into actionable engineering plans.

  • Maintain empathy for the team by understanding engineering processes and practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Enhance team collaboration and foster an environment where team members feel heard, understood, and supported in their work processes. Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks, organizing knowledge-sharing sessions to encourage active participation and collaboration.

  • Prioritize initiatives to elevate product quality, enhance security measures, and optimize performance; ensuring comprehensive test coverage, minimizing customer-reported defects through rigorous testing and the implementation of automated testing strategies.

  • Promote security best practices by leveraging cutting-edge tools and implementing continuous monitoring protocols. Drive performance improvements through strategic optimizations and refactoring efforts, ensuring our products exceed performance benchmarks.

  • Collaborate with reliability engineers and team members to address incidents promptly, ensuring system reliability and minimizing downtime. Participate in incident management processes to maintain service availability proactively and drive improvements in system resilience.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science | Systems Engineering or related fields are desirable.

  2. Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams in tech industries or related (desirable).

  3. Strong technical background and expertise as a Software Engineer, Developer, or QA Engineer.

  4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  5. Knowledge/experience with agile methodologies.

  6. Ability to align technical decisions with business objectives.

  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
