Senior Network Engineer

• Perform switch, router, firewall, wi-fi and site to site VPN configuration, installation and maintenance
• On call shifts may be required – this will include Traveling to remote sites to set, configure or troubleshoot network problems.
• Assist with Network security – firewalls, VPN devices and other perimeter devices.
• Monitoring alerts from various building probes.
• Cabling and connecting both copper and fiber equipment.
• Other related duties.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Network Certification Preferred
• Ability to analyze packet captures
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Experience with Juniper is a plus.
• Good time management, ability to follow process, able to work in a group but also self-manage tasks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
o Equivalent combination of education and experience deemed acceptable by the Office of Innovation & Technology and Human Resources also considered.
• Three to Five years applicable work experience in IT with emphasis in networking.
