Azure Infrastructure Engineer

As a startup, Roots Automation offers a high-paced environment with ample growth and learning opportunities across multiple disciplines. This role will have direct interaction with customers (SMEs/Business Process Owners), infrastructure team (Automation & Cloud), front-end development team and senior management.

Responsibilities:

• Azure Infrastructure operations support and project work.
• Participate in On-Call Rotation for support and security off-hours.
• Deploy highly available, scalable, & secure cloud infrastructure resources - a focus on Azure though experience with AWS and Google Cloud is a plus.
• Design & develop automations to support Cloud Infrastructure Operations and CI/CD processes.
• Identify and remediate bottlenecks in Azure resource deployments, coding development, and other deployment processes.
• Take Ownership of High Priority Operational Tasks to spread strengths across team
• Coordinate on IT tasks with Customer’s IT departments to deploy and support integrations

Key Technology Requirements:

• Source Control: Repos (Git or GitHub)
• Infrastructure Automation tools: Terraform, ARM Templates, Azure DevOps Pipelines
• Automation Scripts: PowerShell, Azure PowerShell/CLI, bash, etc.
• Active Directory: Good understanding of Active Directory Schema, OU Design, AD replication topology, and experience with MS Advance Group Policy Management
• Azure Cloud Services: App Services and Plans, Azure Functions, SQL Databases (IaaS & PaaS), Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, Container Registries
• Broad understanding of Azure Infrastructure: Virtual Networks, Virtual Machines, Azure Load balancers, Network Security Groups, Scale Sets, App Service Environments, Azure App Proxies, Network Security Groups, Azure Active Directory integration, Policy, SSL Certs and DNS
• Container Concepts: Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS
• Windows Server OS proficiency
• Linux proficiency, particularly in container-focused distros such as CoreOS
• Experience with Azure Monitor, App Insights, and Log Analytics

Additional Qualifications:

• Intermediate / Advanced English skills (if English not native language )
• Strong communication skills, time management and teamwork ethic
• Experience with Project and System Documentation – Written and Graphical
• Experience with Agile Methodologies and Project Management Software
• 5+ years’ experience in Cloud Infrastructure and Services (Ideally Azure but AWS/GCP relevant)
• 2+ years’ experience in DevOps toolsets
• 2+ CI/CD exposure
• Excellent understanding of and experience with Infrastructure as a Code (IaaS)
• Experience solving complex Cloud Infrastructure and Networking challenges
