Job Overview

Coupang’s Identity & Access Management (IAM) Team is responsible for managing the company’s IAM Infrastructure. IAM is responsible for providing a platform that defines and manages the correct access to enterprise assets by the right users in the right context. This is a critical position within the company that requires creative thinking, careful implementation, and the ability to effectively communicate with other teams.

As Identity and Access Management (IAM) Solutions Engineering Director, you will provide strategic direction and leadership to develop and enhance our IAM program with an in-depth knowledge of IAM tools, technologies, processes, and best practices. Your responsibilities will encompass leading the IAM solutions architecture, staying abreast of emerging trends, overseeing day-to-day IAM operations, managing the overall IAM strategic roadmap, executing related activities, and ensuring the appropriate implementation of architecture and design for our IAM technology landscape.

This role will report directly to the Head of Identity and Access Management and act as the senior IAM representative in discussions with both internal and external partners on all matters relating to IAM improvements, enhancements, and efficiency gains as outcomes from the strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of IAM technologies, including access management, access control, access review, privileged access, and identity governance and administration.
  • Build deep relationships with engineering leaders across the company to drive security risk decisions and influence technical architecture at the earliest time possible.
  • Provide expertise and leadership in the implementation of identity and access management services, such as role-based access control, frictionless access, user access reviews, and privileged system access control.
  • Define, manage, and automate (where it makes sense) the end-to-end process for application security design, development, testing and deployment.
  • Act as a senior level of escalation on any issues and concerns with IAM services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years architecting, implementing, managing, and supporting IAM solutions
  • Minimum of 7 years in a leadership role
  • Expert experience and knowledge of Access Management systems such as Okta, Azure AD, ADFS, Ping, etc.
  • Expert experience and knowledge of Identity Governance and Administration systems such as Saviynt, SailPoint, etc.
  • Expert experience and knowledge of Privileged Access Management systems such CyberArk, BeyondTrust, Teleport, AWS SSM, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of Dynamic Authorization systems such as Axiomatics, PlainID, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge of Active Directory, Radiant Logic FID, or a comparable product
  • Expert knowledge of DevOps/CICD/IAC for IAM and Automation/Orchestration Tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge on IAM controls, processes and procedures
  • Proficient knowledge and experience of how IAM tools and automations can be used for SOX user access attestation campaigns and segregation of duty controls.
  • Exceptional ability to consistently deliver creative, thoughtful and business-orientated results that appropriately balances growth and risk in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Ability to adapt easily to rapid and diverse business changes
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop solutions.
