Senior Front-End Engineer

As a Senior Front-End Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager and play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of our core software products. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality code, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to technical decision-making.

What you'll be doing: Technical Development

1. Design and Implement Solutions: Develop clean, scalable, and well-tested code to address complex product requirements.
2. Maintain and Enhance Systems: Refactor existing codebases, optimize performance, and ensure the long-term stability of our software products.
3. Drive Technical Decisions: Lead technical discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and make informed choices that impact the product's success.
4. Conduct Code Reviews: Provide constructive feedback on code quality, adherence to standards, and overall design.
5. Participate in Technical Design: Collaborate with leads and other senior engineers to create robust and maintainable solutions.

Team Collaboration

1. Mentor Junior Engineers: Share knowledge and experience with less experienced team members, fostering their technical growth.
2. Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure successful project delivery.
3. Participate in Agile Ceremonies: Actively engage in sprint grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to promote continuous improvement.

Technical Expertise

1. Stay Current: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, identifying opportunities for innovation.
2. Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Quickly diagnose and address production issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring user satisfaction.
3. Promote Quality: Advocate for high standards in coding, testing, and documentation.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

What we’re looking for:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 4-6 years of professional frontend software development experience
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies.
• Strong working knowledge and experience with React, HTML 5, CSS required
• Strong working knowledge of Next.js is highly desirable
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Proven track record of leading technical projects and mentoring engineers
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Experience working in an agile development environment

Location: The Senior Front-End Engineer position is a work-from-home position for Balsam International Unlimited Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, and Tarlac areas only.

Our must-haves:

• Must be open to joining some face-to-face gatherings, like our monthly functional meetings and quarterly teamwide events.
• Must have a back-up laptop or desktop for use, if primary laptop encounters issues.
• Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber or Broadband connection (not mobile or broadband stick) as the primary internet connection with a minimum actual speed of 10MBPS.
• Must have a back-up internet connection of the same speed, if primary connection becomes spotty.

Status: This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.

Hardware Provision: Company-issued Laptop will be provided on the first day.
