Overview:

Visa is looking for a self-starter with the ability to design, plan and implement WAN, LAN and wireless networks in a corporate network environment with minimal supervision. In addition, the incumbent should expect to provide third level technical support to network support team to resolve network issues.

The role will require collaboration with the project managers, account managers, security and network support teams for all engineering requirements and end-to-end technical oversight. In addition, they will be expected to provide network design documentation to project teams, peers, and network support organizations.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide engineering recommendations and service improvement plans for the corporate network infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong vendor management skills.
  • Collaborate with the Cybersecurity to ensure security and compliance requirements are met and provide technical assistance for the investigation, analysis, and mitigation of network vulnerability alerts.
  • Analyze network activity and network problem trends to discover and prevent systemic errors.
  • Research, analyze and recommend the implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performance.
  • Assess network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the business.
  • Provide training and guidance to network support teams.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco certification, bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in network engineering.
  • Advanced understanding of Cisco routing and switching.
  • Expert level knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF,)
  • Knowledge of Cisco VPN networking.
  • Working knowledge of Citrix NetScaler Access Gateways.
  • Broad knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, WAN, LAN and wireless networking.
  • Working knowledge of Python.
  • Working knowledge of SASE solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Unified Communications and VOIP.
  • Working knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud computing.
  • Working knowledge of automation tools.
  • Experience creating low-level network design documentation including detailed Visio diagrams.
  • Advanced process, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication skills.
