Chief Engineer – eDrive

Taking over this role you will be responsible for:

• Leading design, development and testing the CycloRotor eDrive electrified system components, such as motors, inverters, power distribution and interfaces
• Contribution to the requirements, system architecture and testcases
• System verification and test on HIL, propulsion system test-bench and vehicle
• Applying the DO254, DO160 and ARP4754 standards to ensure the safety, reliability, and quality of the CycloRotor eDrive systems
• Electromagnetic and thermal design of the electric components in the eDrive system
• Evaluate different design variations and propose optimal solutions
• Identify and resolve any technical issues or risks that may arise during the product development
• Staying up to date on the latest trends and technologies in the aviation industry and incorporate them into the engineering processes
• Providing technical guidance, training, and feedback of our international customers in our workshops and test facilities
• Point of contact for other sub-suppliers and other stakeholders
• Preparing and presenting technical reports and documentation for internal and external purposes.
• Using various tools and technologies, such as MATLAB/ Simulink, CFD thermal simulation, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics-, aerospace engineering, or a related field
• Min 5 years of leading experience in the field of Electric- Drive Systems and/or Inverters, preferably in the aviation industry
• Strong knowledge of Power electronics (eg. IGBT, MOSFET, DC- link)
• Fluency in written and spoken English (German is an advantage)
• Good communication/presentation skills, strong team player
• Knowledge of thermal simulations in the field of electric components is a plus.
• Experience in test data processing and design data correlations with test results.
• Proficient in using various engineering software tools such as MATLAB/ Simulink
• Creative and analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
