About the role
As a Cloud Data Base Engineer you will:

  • Provide technical and procedural consistency within a team focused on the implementation, service delivery and support of products, systems & networks.
  • Provide assistance with initiatives for driving down incident rates and working with site operations to improve service recovery times.
  • Assist with the implementation process to ensure that all aspects of operability are delivered whilst ensuring that existing service levels are maintained or improved.
  • Complies with operational standards, procedures, and best practice. Relates to a technically biased or coordinator biased role and may be developed within either discipline.

About you
You are fit for the role of Cloud Data Base Engineer if you have:

  • 2 years Experience: Oracle/PostgreSQL (11/12 core DBA skills for supporting Oracle database 10g/11g/12c with RAC/Non-RAC on ASM/Non-ASM environment.

  • Exposure in Oracle Database Configuration, Maintenance, Cloning, Patching Exposure in Oracle Database troubleshooting Versed in using Database Tools (Tkprof, Awr, Statspack, ADDM, Opatch, ASMCMD, SRVCTL, CRSCTL)

  • Proven working experience as a Database administrator Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications

  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL

  • Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding

  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools

  • Familiarity with programming languages API Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification

  • Experience with Unix/Linux including basic commands and basic shell scripting. Exposure of Backup and Recovery (Oracle RMAN, Import/Export and Datapump)

  • Oracle Database Installation 11g/12c on windows and Unix environment. Oracle Database Advanced Installation 12c (RAC and ASM)

  • Exposure in Dataguard implementation and maintenance Basic knowledge of performance monitoring and tuning.
