Data Infrastructure Engineer

What You’ll Do:

DeepIntent seeks an experienced Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our European Data Infrastructure team. As a Data Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the foundational infrastructure supporting our data ecosystem. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data storage, processing, and accessibility, enabling seamless data-driven decision-making across the organization

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data infrastructure solutions to support the storage, processing, and analysis of large volumes of data
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to optimize data infrastructure performance, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness
• Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data assets and ensure business continuity.
• Continuously optimize data pipelines for efficiency, scalability, and reliability, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and operational issues
• Establish and promote best practices, standards, and guidelines for data infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and enhancements to the existing infrastructure
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables on time

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• Proven experience as a Data Infrastructure Engineer, with a minimum of 3 years working in a production environment
• Proficiency with the architecture, deployment, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of open-source data technologies, especially Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, and related software in large-scale production environments
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with experience in scripting and automation.
• Hands-on experience managing large numbers of diverse systems with configuration management or software delivery platforms (such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
• Experience with data center and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
• Good understanding of DevOps practices and experience with containerization technologies such as Docker for packaging and Kubernetes for orchestration
• Experience with security-related infrastructure including MIT Kerberos, OpenSSL, and certificate management
• Understanding of the Linux Operating System, standard networking protocols, and components
• Experience with deploying, supporting, and monitoring new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks
• Strong sense of ownership and integrity demonstrated through clear communication and collaboration
