About The Role
The SQL Database Administrator will provide database services to our customers via our Managed Services department, including database monitoring and alerts, database sizing and implementation; database performance tuning and consulting (including knowledge of the application software and how it interacts with the database); database backup and recovery (both setup and execution); and potentially database migration. A qualified candidate will have experience working in a Managed Services department of an enterprise software company as a database administrator, and ability to work well remotely with a variety of customers.
Responsibilities
- Database Administration via Managed Services for our customers
- Troubleshooting and issue resolution of database issues
- Setup of new customer databases, Maintenance and Upgrades
- Monitoring, Management and Maintenance of databases
- Performance tuning and administration of live production databases
- Consulting and recommendations around database sizing and configuration
- Support DB data recovery services to our customers
- Support Database upgrades, migration activities
- Handling mission and business critical issues 24x7
- Linux administration knowledge would be an advantage
- Kafka, PostGres knowledge would be an advantage
Requirements
- 7+ years experience as a DBA for an enterprise software company or in related field.
- Experience with administration of SQL database administration
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Strong customer service orientation
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in the maritime or logistics industry is a significant plus
- Experience in N4 TOS a big plus
- Experience working in distributed virtual teams
- Demonstrate great attitude and work ethic
- Professional image, personality and demeanor
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent customer service and follow-up skills
