Learning Technologist

Instill Education is on a mission to transform teaching, learning, and leadership in every classroom on the African continent. Our teachers and school leaders are the greatest levers for change in the education system. We recently became an accredited higher education institution in South Africa and launched a game-changing mobile app that offers self-paced, bite-sized modules to help teachers in their professional development journey. More than 50,000 teachers in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria have already enrolled in our professional development modules and joined a pan-African community of peers and experts who provide support and feedback along the way.

We are looking to hire a Learning Technologist to support our lecturers revising, polishing and publishing learning content for our students on our Learning Management System.

What does the role entail?

As the Learning Technologist, you will support the Academic team in revising, polishing, and publishing content for online and blended learning programmes.

More specifically you will;

• Copy editing teaching and learning materials

• Using inclusive and culturally affirming graphics to support learning

• Refining multimedia for learning experiences on design tools such as Canva, Storyboard, Animaker, etc.

• Uploading content on our learning management system, Brightspace, and internal application, Upskill using the Adapt Authoring tool.

• Working with designers to ensure their designs capture the intended learning objectives

• Training and supporting designers with understanding how to develop interactive content with our design tools

• Sharing best practices in the selection and implementation of new design tools

Selection Criteria:

• 2- 3 years of post-qualification work experience

• You have a strong interest in design, especially using graphics and multimedia to support inclusive and meaningful learning experiences.

• You have strong project management skills paired with the ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources.

• You possess exceptional writing and written communication skills with a knack for improving the writing of others.

• You are incredibly sharp, pay attention to detail, and have exceptional critical thinking skills with strong interpersonal communication skills.

• You have the ability to work in an ever-changing environment as part of a multicultural team.

Anticipated start: 1 July 2024

Location: Flexible in Kenya or Ghana
