As Area Lead Engineer at H&M Group, you will be responsible for four Engineering teams (API Platform, Event Platforms, Developer Portal and Integration Services) within the Integration Platforms & Services Unit. You will be partnering with other visionary teams to support our unit to drive the mission of empowering product teams to build sustainable and secure integration solutions for faster time to market.

In your role you will be working closely with relevant stakeholders, you’ll dive deep into the organization's requirements and needs, offering critical insights that help our product managers and software engineers within the unit to maintain and develop new capabilities on the central platforms. You will lead the teams dedicated to operating and maintain central platforms such as API management service, Event platforms, API Developer Portal and integration services and tools but also to build enhancements and improvements on these platforms for engineers to utilize to be able to deliver business solutions. The area should deliver best-in-class engineering services that improves H&M’s speed to market, flexibility, and scalability by providing frictionless technology with self-service capabilities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for API, event, and integration platforms in alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of all managed platforms.
  • Ensure simplified and efficient self-service capabilities of all managed platforms.
  • Monitor and manage the financial impact of decisions and priorities of the product teams.
  • Collaborate with other distributed product teams to deliver/consume new capabilities provided by the Integration Platforms & Services Unit.
  • Develop strong relationships and work cross-functionally with many teams across organizations and functions, and as a result, deliver solid and future proof integration solutions that deliver business value.
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to the teams.
  • Mentor and coach, your team members to enable them to grow professionally and increase their performance.

What you need to succeed:

  • Knowledge of API platforms (Azure API management, MuleSoft) and in-depth knowledge of how to maintain and operate them on a large scale in an Enterprise
  • Knowledge of Event platforms (Solace PubSub+, Azure EventGrid, Kafka)
  • Knowledge of API first strategy and Event-driven architecture and implementation of integration using APIs and Events
  • 10+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on work with integration solutions such as API management platforms and Event platforms
  • Minimum of 5+ years of product management with demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining test and production environments.
  • Deep understanding of public cloud technologies (Azure & GCP primary)
  • Strong agile mindset and skilled in planning, prioritizing, execution, and follow ups with cross functional teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
