The Position:

Makpar has an exciting opportunity for an AI Solution Architect to join our growing team. The ideal candidate must design and implement AI solution architecture and strategy, understand and address client business problems, and expand Makpar’s AI capability. Additionally, the candidate must perform work that requires practical experience while demonstrating AI thought leadership. This is a full-time, salaried position. While this is primarily a technical role, it will require the ability to understand and bridge the gap between complex business challenges and innovative AI solutions, making it a critical position.

Role Specific Duties:

• Lead Makpar’s artificial intelligence / machine learning technical direction and roadmaps aligned with business goals, considering scalability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms to identify optimal solutions for specific use cases and business requirements.
• Establish Makpar’s AI Engineering framework that supports the deployment, evaluation, and management of AI / ML solutions.
• Work with data engineers and data scientists to develop robust data pipelines for high-quality data acquisition, storage, and processing.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Service Leads to pilot use cases and refine based on learnings/feedback.
• Collect feedback from multiple stakeholders to align technical implementation with requirements.
• Collaborate closely with security leaders to proactively mitigate risks and ensure ethical AI implementation.
• Implement safeguards to address training data poisoning, AI model theft, and other security challenges.
• Conduct research to provide technical solutions to scale AI/ML powered features for real-world challenges, making trade-offs based on quality, scalability, performance, and cost.
• Provide guidance, training, and knowledge transfer to internal teams on AI concepts, best practices, and tools.
• Manage relationships with AI technology vendors, service providers, and external partners to leverage expertise and resources as needed.
• Identify potential risks and challenges associated with AI implementations and develop mitigation strategies to ensure reliability and robustness.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related field.
• 8+ years of related consulting experience leading a team (engineering or cross-functional).
• 8+ years of experience in an AI solution delivery environment.
• 8+ years of experience translating requirements into client ready design documents.
• 8+ years of experience with application architecture analysis, design, and delivery.
• 8+ years of full system development life cycle implementations.
• 2+ years of experience in implementing Corporate AI Governance and Strategy as part of overall corporate strategy (working with Federal Government clients a plus)
• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML Frameworks and Libraries such as Azure ML Studio, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Torch, Apache MXNet or similar
• 2+ years of experience in Data and Algorithm Marketplaces such as Algorithmia, Kaggle, Exhange.ai or similar
• 2+ years of experience in AutoML tools such as Auto ML, Sagemaker AutoPilot, AutoAI or similar
• Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
