Network Support Specialist Intern

Apprenticely is working with our company partner, Kalmer Solutions to add a Network Support Specialist Intern to their operations team in Jonesboro, Arkansas!

Our Apprenticely Internship Program is a three-month program that places selected candidates with employers across Arkansas in IT positions to gain experience under the guidance of a professional mentor/IT support team. Internships are designed as an on-ramp to kick off an IT support career and can roll into full-time positions based on employer demand.

What You'll Do...

• Monitor a wide variety of information and network systems that include, but are not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, servers, storage, backup, operating systems, and core applications

• Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks (installation of patches, network connectivity testing, script execution, etc.)

• Provide timely responses to incidents, outages, and performance alerts

• Monitoring, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of computer equipment and downloading of software

• Support satellite locations onsite in Northeast and Central Arkansas

• Communicate professionally with technical and non-technical audiences alike

Our Must Haves...

• Strong willingness to learn and work with a team
• Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ certification
• Exhibited technical aptitude through projects, experience, or online learning and ability to communicate what you know
• Previous experience in an IT environment is a plus!
• Experience with programming a plus!
• High curiosity and interest in learning new technologies as well as growing or starting your IT career
• Current Arkansas state resident
• Ability to work full-time in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
• Ability to pass a standard background check

• Pay: $15/hour
• Schedule: 40-hour week: typically 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
• Length of Internship: 3 months
• Location: Kalmer Solutions in Jonesboro, Arkansas

$15 - $15 an hour

How does the interview process work? Apprenticely will conduct an initial phone interview and assessment. Apprenticely will send selected resumes to companies that match the candidate’s skills and interests. Our employer partners will decide who to interview and select the final candidates for the internship program.
