Position Summary

This position is within Acadia. Acadia is wholly owned by LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) and is part of the Post Trade division.

The DevOps Engineer is a Linux system administrator (SA) and will be trained to be responsible for

Systems administration of bespoke platforms deployed to on-premises, AWS and Azure. Deployments and patching of systems Collaborating to optimize uptime, remediate issues within an ISO27001 environment. Problem solving and remediation.

This role requires 3 days per week in the local LSEG office.

Role Responsibilities

The role may include automated provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of software defined infrastructure.

This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing improvements in process and supporting the maximum available uptime. The best candidates are pro-active, self-led and are perceived as passionate about improving service for our clients

The Acadia environment consists of Jira tracking, Cisco Nexus and Meraki networking. VMware vSphere, Windows desktop, Windows Server, and Ubuntu Server. We use both relational and document data stores (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB).

  • Use of Prometheus, Data Dog, System Centre or other enterprise monitoring tools such as Splunk.
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards.
  • Operations and Support.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform regular backup, backup verification, file archival and purges as necessary.
  • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software or virtual infrastructure failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  • Systems Administration and Maintenance of a variety of bespoke systems.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
  • No staff oversight but a high performing team member.
  • No budget responsibility.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • 3 – 7 years of technical experience as a systems administrator.
  • Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
