Senior Software Architect

Job Summary:

In this pivotal and influential role you will create the architectural vision for a small number of Volaris Business Units (VBU) that will guide the existing teams to the development of the next generation of products for each company.

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Understand the “as is” technology stack for each VBU
• Work with senior management, Product Management and Product Marketing to understand the commercial imperatives for the next generation of software products
• Create and maintain the necessary technical roadmaps, blueprints and detailed structural diagrams
• Mentor technical people, reaching out across multiple technical teams, building strong working relationships to share good practice, especially around coding standards, branching strategies and release schedules
• Lead robust code reviews, testing and automated testing procedures
• Instill a quality-first approach to coding and set the standard for high-quality code
• Regularly communicate architecture and technical decisions to business stakeholders and technical team members
• Periodically review what the competition are doing as well as research existing technical possibilities; stay abreast of new technical developments that could add new product features, strengthen product quality or reduce development timescales

Qualifications / Experience / Personal Qualities:

• University degree in computer science
• Extensive experience (15+ years) in software development and project management
• A hands-on, multi-disciplinary technologist that likes problem-solving across multiple tech streams
• Deeply appreciative and passionate about all aspects of the user experience
• Experience of mentoring and developing technical team members
• Communicate difficult technical concepts clearly to various key business stakeholders
• Highly analytical mindset, with an ability to see both the big picture and the details.
• Strong communication and presentation skills

This role is for a small number of global companies with the Volaris Group (part of Constellation Software Inc) that operate through the English language. The position is 100% remote, with some international travel expected. A High-level or fluency in English is essential.
