The Software Lab Engineer works in a Kanban based software development environment in creating robust platforms and innovative gaming products for current and emerging markets. She/he is responsible managing the software lab which is made up of Electronic Gaming Machines and Servers. Some of the responsibilities include constructing and configuring Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), running tests & reporting results, ordering lab equipment & supplies, and managing lab inventory. This position also works with the Automation, Quality Assurance, and Development Teams by providing technical support (equipment, network, firewalls, etc.).

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses EGM components, configuration, and network connections.
  • Orders EGM components, memory, disk, etc., as needed to support QA, Development & Compliance.
  • Assist with senior staff to ensure all required equipment and EGMs are available as needed to support QA, Development, and Automation delivery schedules.
  • Provides routine technical support to Tier 3 Engineering to debug and troubleshoot field issues.
  • Assists as required in process improvement initiatives.
  • Keep up with regulations and standards of safety and standards for the software lab and office.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including maintenance code changes in various automation components for deployment and test execution; documents code changes and develops tests to verify the changes.
  • Manage Software Lab Inventory.
  • Other Duties as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role.
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases, and remote control.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Technical support and/or help desk experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks (preferred)

Experience in the following:

  • C# and/or PowerShell
  • Any debugger
  • Knowledge of version control

Our goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
