Compliance Officer

The Compliance Officer plays a critical role in GoGlobal as we continue to expand and add new corporate services lines. The Compliance Officer will be leading Client Acceptance, Know Your Customer (KYC), Risk Management and Client Screening across the entire organization. We operate a direct solution across the globe and need to ensure that we are acting in compliance within the diverse jurisdictions and that our internal processes and procedures are fit for today as well as future scale-up.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop internal company policies and see that they are respected.
• Make sure the organization has a clearly defined program for complying with country laws.
• Report to management concerning the organization’s compliance with laws and regulations as well as risks in advance of any new business direction.
• Take action in dealing with non-compliance situations, creating realistic plans to overcome them.
• Conduct regular audits to identify potential weaknesses and non-compliance situations.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders and ensure everyone is aware of what they need to do to comply with applicable regulations, this can include risk evaluation.
• This role may require occasional travel as it is working across borders.
• Anticipating regulatory changes and implementing initiatives to mitigate risks.
• Build and manage a KYC/Client Acceptance/AML team
• Other ad hoc projects being requested.

Requirements

• A degree and extensive experience in corporate legal work
• Strong experience in AML/KYC/Compliance standards, particularly in Client Acceptance, KYC & Screening processes within the corporate services sector.
• Already possesses or has the ability to gain quick understanding of global corporate services.
• Proven track record of risk mitigation and creative solutions, ideally in a start-up model
• Familiarity with the EOR and/or corporate services is highly desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills are essential for creating and maintaining strong relationships across the business
• Excellent presentation skills
• Awareness and appreciation for cultural differences
• Skilled at analyzing problems, identifying solutions, and making sound decisions
• The ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively across departments
• Ability to work in dynamic environments and flexibility in managing changing priorities
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
