Job Overview:

We are currently seeking an Enterprise Infrastructure Architect to become a member of Technology Services Group. The ideal candidate should have proven track record in cloud-native services deployment, design, and implementation of complex infrastructure solutions. The role requires proficiency in enterprise infrastructure architecture, secure, scalable solutions, and expertise in public and hybrid cloud models.

While very much a hands-on role, this role also requires strong communication and presentation skills and a thorough understanding of Datacenter hosting and Infrastructure best practices to be able to articulate complex enterprise solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative infrastructure solutions, focusing on cloud-native services and application modernization.
  • Work intimately with application owners, network, and security teams to develop and deploy scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure architectures.
  • Lead the transition to cloud-based environments, specializing in public and hybrid cloud models.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses and evaluations of existing infrastructure to identify areas of improvement and modernization.
  • Ensure infrastructure architectures comply with all security polices, safeguarding data integrity and availability.
  • Align IT infrastructure strategy with overall business goals, including capacity planning, budgeting, and technology life cycle management.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and diagrams to illustrate infrastructure architectures and designs.
  • Stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies and industry best practices, incorporating them into Fortrea’ s strategy and implementations.
  • Define reference and implementation architectures for solutions and accelerators.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership to cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing and problem solving.
  • Communicate complex cloud infrastructure concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment across Organization.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee service delivery to optimize cost and performance.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Excellent public speaking skills

Experience (Minimum Required):

  • Minimum 10 years of extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex, scalable and reliable infrastructure architectures, encompassing both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience in integrating diverse systems and technologies, ensuring seamless and efficient operation across various platforms and environments.
  • Skills in designing and implementing disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) for critical IT systems.
  • Hands on experience in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare, Hyper-V, and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to optimize resource utilization and deployment processes.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, including public, private and hybrid cloud models, along with expertise in cloud service providers like Azure, AWS, and Google
  • Solid foundation in network architecture design, including an understanding of protocols, WAN/LAN, and security best practices and efficient network.
  • Experience in developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to hosting, ensuring compliance across all systems and processes.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated leader with ability to fill gaps and drive expected results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to envision the future and rally organization/people towards a common goal.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, Solaris, and Unix
  • Strong technical knowledge of cloud technologies & IT concepts (VMWare, Hyper-V, Cisco, Microsoft, EMC, AWS, etc)
  • Relevant Professional certifications like VMware - VCP-DCV / Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP), Nutanix Certified Professional / HPE ASE – Server Solutions Architect, Azure Solution Architect Expect / AWS Certified Solutions Architect professional.
  • Master’s Degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in the Pharma/CRO/Life Sciences space.
  • TOGAF Certification
