What is Polygon Labs?

Polygon Labs is a software development company building and developing a network of aggregated blockchains via the AggLayer, secured by Ethereum. As public infrastructure, the AggLayer will bring together user bases and liquidity for any connected chain, and leverage Ethereum as a settlement layer. Polygon Labs has also contributed to the core development of several widely-adopted scaling protocols and tools for launching blockchains, including Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM, and Polygon Miden, which is in development as well as Polygon CDK.

Polygon is at the forefront of scaling Ethereum and building the infrastructure for the decentralized web. As the Head of DeFi, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the DeFi ecosystem on Polygon, fostering innovation, and driving adoption of decentralized finance applications. This is an opportunity to be a key contributor to the rapidly evolving web3 space, reporting to the CEO and working with the entire leadership team to establish Polygon technology as the go-to for DeFi projects. Your Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to attract and support leading DeFi projects, protocols, and developers to build on Polygon's scalable and secure infrastructure.
• Manage a 5+ member (and growing) team of BD, research, and mechanism designers
• Collaborate with the broader ecosystem to foster partnerships, integrations, and liquidity incentives that drive DeFi adoption on Polygon.
• Identify and analyze emerging trends, technologies, and innovations in the DeFi space, and position Polygon to capitalize on these opportunities.
• Serve as a thought leader and evangelist for Polygon's DeFi offerings, representing the project at industry events, conferences, and forums.
• Engage with the DeFi community, gather feedback, and incorporate insights into product roadmaps and development initiatives.
• Interface with top VCs, investment banks, fintechs and credit/lending institutions to further the cause of DeFi adoption.

What you'll need

• Proven track record of success in the DeFi space, with a deep understanding of decentralized finance protocols, liquidity provision, and yield farming mechanisms.
• 8+ years of experience in Web3, FinTech, traditional banking, investment banking focused companies in business development operations or general management
• Extensive experience in building and managing DeFi products, platforms, or protocols, with a strong grasp of smart contract development and blockchain technology.
• Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with developers, partners, and the broader web3 community.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for driving innovation in the decentralized finance ecosystem.
