We are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to help us revolutionise the physical and digital music industry. The company has invented a new technology to produce on-demand vinyl records and built a web platform for music creators to create and sell their product worldwide via our store. We are working with the leading record labels, streaming services, digital service providers, distributors, and iconic global artists who are keen to partner with us to build a global solution for physical media. It is our mission that any music creator, big and small, will have frictionless access to offer vinyl and CD to their fans via our innovative solution and planned production/fulfilment centres in Europe, USA and Asia.

The vinyl market has been growing on average more than 20% year on year over the last 16 years, more than doubling since 2020. In Japan it grew 40% last year and even CDs are growing for the first time in two decades. Over 30 million creators are releasing their music online today while they are growing 30% a year and represent the fastest growing segment in music. Most of them would like to have their music on vinyl or CD for their friends & family and especially their fans. elasticStage will provide them easy and affordable access via its unique and scalable on-demand tech.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented IT Systems Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure software and hardware involving our systems for print, vinyl & CD production and fulfilment.
  • Manage network servers, fibre & CAT infrastructure, and technology tools.
  • Manage fibre internet connection (leased 10Gb line).
  • Set up accounts and workstations.
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages.
  • Develop disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ensure security through access controls (VPN), backups and firewalls.
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.
  • Manage purchases and repairs for our IT systems involving Linux, Mac and Windows, as well as custom built machines.
  • Manage software licences (Microsoft, Adobe, misc. audio software, IDE's,...)

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role.
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Able to maintain Dell PowerEdge servers and PowerVault SAN storage systems.
  • Work with Ubiquiti infrastructure.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Virtualisation with Hyper-V, Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about audio networking systems like AES67 and Ravenna.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace administration.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about audio workstations (DAWs), audio signals.

Work Location

  • This role is onsite, based in our vibrant Elstree office (WD6) five days a week.
