Tentative Postdoctoral Opportunity at the Water Research and Technology Center (CITA)

The CITA (Water Research and Technology Center) at the University of Engineering and Technology UTEC in Lima (Peru) is seeking a potential postdoctoral researcher for a 1-year full time contract to work on the project:

“Combining satellite imaging derived indexes with field sampling data to depict the prevalence of cyanobacteria in freshwater lakes”

within the scope of the Prociencia-funded project:

“Design of a monitoring system for cyanobacteria and cyanotoxins using remote sensing and high frequency sampling in mountain Andean reservoirs (Pañe and Aguada Blanca, Arequipa)”

Specific role of this postdoc will be to focalize on exploring the relationship between spectral indexes derived from satellite images and the data collected in the field regarding cyanobacteria.

Specific requirements are:

• Eligible candidates can be of any nationality when applying to this call
• Must hold a doctorate degree from a foreign university (non-peruvian)
• Must have at least three (03) years of experience in the project’s subject area (high
• impact publications are highly desired)
• Satellite imaging analysis with spectral indexes estimation skills
• Practical experience with cyanobacteria (especially freshwater)
