About the role:
We are building and scaling a resident-centric ecosystem of products, which enable us to have a 360 view of the prospect/resident to improve operational efficiency and resident satisfaction.

As a Greystar Living Tech Tech Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our customer-facing mobile application and the customer portal website by guiding other team engineers as well as hands-on developing application features, participating in feature design sessions, performing code reviews, and working closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution of issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the application development team, ensuring best practices, development standards, and methodologies are followed to the highest standards.
  • Champion best practices and technical excellence across techniques, processes, smart tooling, etc. to minimize technical debt and improve developer productivity
  • Lead design and code reviews.
  • Roll up your sleeves as needed to get involved in the technical details.
  • Represent the team in story refinement, ensuring that acceptance criteria are clearly defined.
  • Lead technical decisions, provide technical coaching, and help define and prioritize engineering roadmap.
  • Ensure a high standard of code quality is met using Sonarcloud or similar tools.
  • Work closely with the application team, BA, Product Owner, and other internal Greystar teams to ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Help define non-function requirements (NFRs) and ensure that they’re met
  • Develop and maintain application technical documentation
  • Stay up to date with the latest development tools and techniques
  • Manage and mentor the engineering team, applying your expertise to guide the team through difficult engineering challenges.
  • Successfully manage performance; mentoring and coaching software engineers, supporting both high and underperforming individuals.
  • Be a player-coach and provide hands-on leadership to the team & elevate the team’s efficiency.
  • Manage teams directly & through a matrix structure

Technical Pre-screening test and technical interview will be required for all candidates

Technical Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of hands-on experience as a software engineer working with C# or Java
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a frontend developer with expertise in React.js, React Native, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with Azure PaaS resources such as Azure Service Bus, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Azure APIM, and Azure Notification Hub.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and managing scalable RESTful APIs
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile, DevOps, SDLC methodologies
  • Knowledge of cloud-first architecture, web-based systems architecture, service-oriented architectures, and enterprise application architecture
  • Experience managing stakeholder expectations and priorities.
  • Experience with Azure SQL/Cosmos DB

Overall Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a tech lead, building customer-facing products at scale.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile software development processes
  • Expert knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure & hosting.
  • Expert understanding of cloud-first software architecture concepts, resilient application design, cloud technologies, and automation.
  • Passion for technology and a strong desire to stay updated with the latest technology trends and developments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, experience managing expectations and priorities
  • "Self-starter" attitude and the ability to make decisions with minimal guidance from others
  • Proven track record of developing talent within the organization and fostering high-performance teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business management information systems, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred

Compensation is based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for an annual performance bonus that is based on individual and company performance.

Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for a discretionary weekly, monthly and/or quarterly bonus based on budget.
