Lead Data Scientist (Data Strategist), Patient Access

Our Patient Access team is a scaled leader in the HUB services and patient access market, serving the biopharmaceutical industry with comprehensive patient support, product access, affordability, and adherence solutions for more than 30 years. The Data Strategist will lead and implement the data analytics strategy for Patient Access (PA) management by applying business process knowledge and data analytics to support business and program decisions. The role requires the use of analytics to develop new, innovative solutions to business problems and to communicate timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable insights to support business and program decisions. Responsible for utilizing strategic data/information and developing analytics to support planning and execution.

Collaborate with business partners to define business and program needs and understand critical issues. Apply advanced knowledge of statistics and data mining (e.g., predictive modeling, simulations) or other mathematical techniques to recognize patterns and create insights from business data. Develop a data strategy that proactively identifies trends, opportunities, or issues to help inform internal and client decision making.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Identify internal as well as client needs to develop or recommend strategies that inform decisions and processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance to help inform internal and client needs or recommend strategies to inform decisions and process.
  • Ensure the development and review of existing data outputs to drive operational efficiencies (i.e., productivity, staffing levels etc.). Track actual against predicted.
  • Provide guidance and direction to increase automation of modeling and forecasting processes.
  • Responsible for identifying best in practice solutions to solve common organizational challenges.
  • Builds hypotheses, identifies research data attributes and determines the best approach to address business issues.
  • Works internally and with clients to define, secure and prepare datasets for statistical modeling.
  • Explores data using a variety of statistical techniques to answer business questions or guide future model development.
  • Builds programs for running statistical tests on data and for understanding correlation of various attributes.
  • Working with business partners, supports development of experimental design for business initiatives.
  • Builds predictive models as appropriate to support objectives and business needs.
  • Incorporates findings and provides industry and competitor insights as part of model development and enhancement.
  • Prepares testing scenarios and tests model performance.
  • Provides guidance and direction related to statistical analysis to less experienced staff as needed. Provides peer review related to analytics methods and results.

Model Consultation, Implementation, & Communication

  • Acts as consultant to various areas of the business, to support design and analysis of business operations processes.
  • Prepare recommendations and findings for business partners.
  • Works with management staff and other areas of the business on model application and implementation.
  • Effectively communicates and delivers statistical and predictive model results to business partners, supporting socialization and adoption of analysis results into business activities and decisions.
  • Conducts knowledge transfer and training to business areas regarding new analytics applications as part of implementation process.
  • Works closely with business stakeholders to identify and answer critical questions.

Qualifications and skills:

  • A bachelor's degree in statistics or relevant field required. Masterโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in informatics, modeling, or statistical analysis. Ideally in a healthcare or reimbursement company
  • Experience with SAS, Python, R, MATLAB
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing against a data strategy to inform decisions and process for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience building predictive models utilizing advanced statistical analysis, including generalized linear models, decision trees, logistic and multivariate regression.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating business implications of complex data relationships and results of statistical models to multiple business partners.
  • Demonstrated experience working with various business partners to scope and design the statistical framework for business experiments and socialize and help integrate results of analysis of experiments.
  • An awareness of the factors influencing the business needs of Fortrea Patient Access.
  • A proactive approach to management of day-to-day activities and actions that may affect the business.
  • Proven ability to learn new programming languages or software packages and apply them in a self-directed manner.

Pay Range: $140,000 - $175,000

Benefits: All job offers will be based on a candidateโ€™s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
