The opportunity:

  • KPMG has a longstanding presence in the New Zealand market as a trusted M&A advisor. Having sustained a step change in our business over the past several years, we are wishing to hire either a Manager, Senior Manager or Associate Director to help lead the day-to-day execution on M&A advisory mandates.
  • Globally, KPMG are consistently ranked as #1 or #2 mid-market M&A advisor and therefore the strength of our network has been instrumental in securing high quality mandates (often involving members from other international offices).

Day to day you will:

  • M&A process management and overall day-to-day execution lead such as but not limited to executing transactions, interacting with clients, financiers and legal advisors
  • Information Memorandum drafting, valuation advice / financial modelling, buyer research, preparation of pitch materials (and co-leading pitch delivery), negotiation and overall M&A process management
  • Support with business development and deal origination
  • Client relationship management
  • Flexible and encouraging environment to develop origination capabilities

What you will bring to our team:

  • 5-8 years of corporate finance / investment banking / advisory experience

  • Postgraduate studies / CFA / or equivalent well received

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to professional and client service excellence

  • Experience coaching, leading and mentoring junior team members

  • Self-starter and proactive working style with ability to perform in a high pressure / fast-paced business environment

  • Collaborative approach with colleagues

  • Pragmatic approach to problem-solving

  • Creative thinker and team player

  • Ability to develop a trusted and respected working relationship with clients

  • Strong technical skill set, including financial modelling capability
