Manufacturing Engineer

Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer Name of Employer: Illinois Tool Works Inc. Job Location: 6600 Cornell Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45252 Hours: Full Time / 40 hours Requires up to 10% domestic / international travel to unanticipated client sites.

Job Duties:
• Assess and improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Perform time studies and manpower calculations
• Conduct studies, gather and interpret data to assist plant leadership in decisions related to facility, equipment, and processes.
• Evaluate and make recommendations on equipment replacement or upgrades providing justification and economic impact as necessary.
• Conduct project management of equipment or facility related installations, upgrades, and moves as assigned by Engineering Manager.
• Assist the Engineering Manager with management of facilities related vendors and service providers (ex- custodial, landscaping, exterminator, etc.), assuming primary responsibility as directed.
• Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
• Work with vendors on part specification and qualification.

Requirements

Required Minimum Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any) or related field of study; and 2 years of experience in the job offered, as a manufacturing engineer, or any related occupation in which the required skills and / or experience was gained.

Position also requires demonstrated experience in the following:
• Value stream mapping, FMEA, control plans, and SMED Process waste elimination
• Steel vessel and piping construction
• Reviewing the work of technical workforce and maintaining a qualification matrix
• Root cause analysis
• Six Sigma
• Lean manufacturing and scrap reduction
• Continuous improvement within an automated manufacturing environment
