Healthcare Admin Internship

Overview:

The Vascular Care Group is looking for a student interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. In this role you would be able to assist in the performance of our front desk duties and other small projects determined by the office manager. You will be able to have exposure to some of the top vascular surgeons in New England.

During this time, you will learn and gain more knowledge into the operations of a vascular clinic. You will be able to gain hands on work in the clinic – such as rooming patients, greeting patients, flipping rooms. You will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and performs a variety of responsibilities that support the business functions of the vascular clinic
• Assisting the front desk with clerical duties, like scanning, organizing patient referrals, and other administrative tasks
• Communicate with patients with a positive attitude and assist with clinic tasks as needed
• Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner
• Ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

• Strong interest in healthcare
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Positive attitude with both colleagues and patients
• 0-1 years related work experience required (healthcare preferred)
• Currently enrolled in an academic program in the healthcare field, or rising senior in high school
• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access
