About the Role

St Vincent’s ICU is an innovative, tertiary ICU in the heart of Melbourne and is next to the cafe-packed Gertrude St. The ICU is funded for 15 ICU equivalent patients which allows up to 17 patients to be admitted at any time, with the flexibility to provide a combination of 1:1 and 1:2 nursing care, depending on patient acuity.

Classifications for this position will range from classification range ($71,333 - $95,378 per annum).

What we're looking for

  • Available for the following night shifts: 9:00pm – 7:30am or 7pm – 7:30am
  • Current condition free registration with AHPRA
  • Post Graduate or equivalent qualification in Critical Care Nursing
  • Minimum of 12-months ICU experience in an acute/tertiary hospital.
  • A passion for continuous quality improvement & a positive outlook
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges

What we're looking for

  • Demonstrate ‘best practice’ clinical skills and sound clinical knowledge

  • Support the provision of nursing care to critically ill patients within SVHM

  • Ensure incidents regarding clinical practice are accurately documented and investigated at the time of the incident and the Nurse Unit Manager or delegate is informed

  • Perform duties of the position to best of your ability and to a standard acceptable to SVHM
