POSITION OVERVIEW

This position in the Engineered Plastics (EP) business unit would create and enhance Ascend Performance Materials’ (APM) brand recognition in the Cable Tie industry with the aim of accelerating approvals and specifications to support business Long Range Plan (LRP). The individual will be responsible for strategy and implementation of engagement plans at target accounts, working closely with Strategic Marketing, Application Engineering and members of the extended technology/commercial teams around the world.

Be part of a dedicated Commercial team and working closely together with the Regional Application Engineers, this individual will be networking with various commercial, technical and manufacturing functions. The successful candidate will consistently demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, high energy and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

This is a remote role that requires travel. The incumbent must live in the Eastern or Central time zones and within an hour drive of a major airport.

TARGETED OUTCOMES

  • Growth in the Cable Tie market and specifications in targeted applications
  • Developing accounts that are part of Ascend’s EP growth strategy
  • Supporting the LRP with annual Pipeline and Close goals
  • Refine engagement strategies and detail plans to implement for meeting target goals
  • Significant improvement in APM’s brand recognition in the targeted markets

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate and manage opportunities with targeted customers to commercialization
  • Meet growth targets as defined in our LRP
  • Execute Campaigns as per Strategic Marketing tools
  • Collaborate globally to translate specifications as appropriate
  • Develop relevant network of contacts and relationships at various levels of the organization
  • Develop and maintain opportunity pipeline synced with key customer platforms / programs
  • Become the Voice of APM at the customer – articulating strategy and providing regular business updates
  • Facilitate meetings between key customer stakeholders and APM colleagues
  • Support Mapping Customer Needs
  • Develop networks at validation customers for long term APM relationships
  • Utilize and execute translation packages
  • Align the business strategy and growth plans with the target Tier community

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree required, MBA highly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of plastics experience- specifically nylons, cable tie market preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of sales/commercial customer-facing experience with a proven track record of winning Commercial business
  • Proven History of collaborating on technical initiatives - Engaging with technical partners to align with customer roadmaps, and fostering growth in relevant application spaces
  • Experience in managing C-level relationships
  • Effective cross-functional and multi-level networking and influencing ability
  • Influencing and managing in a matrixed environment
  • Experience of Engineering Plastics PA, PPA and others
  • Ability to differentiate Ascend and value up the business
  • Go-to-market strategy formulation
  • Leading / coaching / mentoring
  • Marketing / Business strategy formulation
  • Agility to change strategies to meet LRP goals in spite of fluctuating market dynamics
  • Successful new product launches
