Position summary

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Engineers, Software located in Overland Park, KS will recognize system protocols, how systems operate, and data flows. Design, develop, and deliver various applications running in the Azure using Azure services such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure SQL DB, HDInsight, Databricks.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and orchestrate GCP (Google Cloud Platform) Infrastructure by using Big Query and automated interface platform.
  • Participate in architectural and technical discussions, understanding business requirements and coding as per department standards and implementing code as per the CICD process.
  • Responsible for day-to-day production product support as well as the development and implementation of new business requirements.
  • Create triggers, write stored procedure, functions, using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Participate in SDLC and Agile SAFe Development process, while meeting Service Level Agreement standards for production support, as well as with new processes implemented. Design, develop, code, test, debug, and maintain applications Azure and Microsoft Windows Servers by Azure DevOps and Git CI/CD process.
  • Create notebooks in Databricks using PySpark, SQL and Python. Provide a proof of concept (POC) in the time allocated. Pair programs, tests, debugs, code reviews and use development testing tools to test code performance prior to checking in code for QA testing.
  • Oversee new technologies like using MS Project for visualization, Jupiter notebook for better python coding and provide recommendations to reporting manager. Work on an Agile Product Team structure.
  • Mentor and coach other team members and business customers.
  • Manage and organize daily work in JIRA.
  • Present new ideas to improve existing systems, processes, and services like code optimization, create JIRA ticket pattern to for business requirement, providing inputs during code review using Azure DevOps.
  • Participate in daily Sprint StandUp Calls to discuss about daily progress and log the progress details in the JIRA tickets.
  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance within the Overland Park, Kansas HQ and be able at a minimum come into the office 3 times per week (hybrid schedule).

Skill requirements:

  • (1) Conducting data analysis, database design, query optimization and tuning and developing complex SQL using MS SQL Server, SSMS, Oracle, SparkSQL, and SQL Stored Procedure;
  • (2) Performing data integration in Cloud and on-premise systems using Git/GitHub;
  • (3) Developing software following Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC) and Agile SAFe Development methodologies using JIRA, Visual Studios, MS Visio, Confluence and SharePoint;
  • (4) Releasing and deploying developed code using CICD version control and Azure DevOps; and
  • (5) Creating scripts for stored procedure, packages, functions, indexes, and triggers using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related, and 1 year of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
