Power Systems Division is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Electrical Engineering team. This team member will be a key contributor in the investigation, development, and implementation of electrical design solutions for new and innovative engine driven products. The primary development focus areas will be rotating magnetics design, power supply design, power electronics, and analog and digital control circuits. This position requires a highly motivated individual with exceptional communications and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with engineering teams, marketing, and product management to develop innovative and reliable products to serve our customer needs.
Essential Functions:
- Design solutions that meet project deliverables and position PSD product for long term growth and viability.
- Effectively work with electrical, software, mechanical, and welding engineers to take projects from original concept through implementation.
- Candidate must be an aggressive self-starter and must have excellent communication skills
- Problem solve through the application of troubleshooting techniques, testing, and as necessary redesign.
- Perform testing and documentation on new designs.
- Participate in project meetings and be responsible for assigned action items.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and project deliverables.
- Drives projects forward with cross-functional technical direction.
- Identify innovative patentable solutions to end market needs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required
- 4-8 years’ experience preferred
- Experience with power electronics design with emphasis on switch mode power supplies producing up to 35kW
- Experience with full-bridge, half-bridge, buck, boost, flyback and forward converters.
- Working knowledge of power conversion control systems
- Mixed analog and digital design and troubleshooting capabilities
- Understanding of electrical circuity design for both digital and analog applications.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware technology (i.e. reading electrical schematics and using multimeters and oscilloscopes)
