We are looking for a Forestry Leader

As a Forestry Leader you will lead and develop the forestry agenda for Components, especially categories in the Category Area and Global operations units. Secure that forestry agenda is integrated part of the total supplier and global operations business development process. Secure execution of forestry agenda through the relevant functions and stakeholders (raw material responsible sourcing team, business teams, SAs, sustainability matrix as example.

You will together with the Components management define the forestry agenda based on identified priorities in IKEA Purchasing development and Components and lead the execution. Secure and/or provide training and support to secure competence of IKEA Components relevant personnel (Management, Sustainability team, Business teams, Global operations, etc.) in the IWAY Forestry requirements, FSC requirements, internal routines and WMs.

You will also secure and/or provide training and support to provide conditions for Components suppliers to fulfil IKEA related forestry requirements. Keep IKEA Components’ FSC internal routines for maintenance of compliance with FSC Standards. Secure that forestry related due diligence requirements are well known, understood and implemented in Components, respective suppliers (together with business teams) and global operations and contribute to BPL and APL process with forestry related inputs. You will also lead all FSC Chain-of-Custody Certification process in Components and have possible support with other certification schemes and legislative requirements.

Requirements on the job

• Experience with leading forestry agenda, could be also previous business development experience with forestry agenda included;
• Deep knowledge of IWAY and IWAY Working Method, especially IWAY Forestry Section, IWAY Forestry Working method and related guidelines;
• Deep knowledge of FSC Chain of Custody standard and Chain of Custody management practices;
• Good understanding of legal frameworks in forestry related matters;
• Capacity to understand relevant IKEA IT systems in particular Connect and SRDB;
• General knowledge about IKEAs supply chain and more in depth knowledge and experience from purchase operations;
• Ability to learn and work self-driven;
• Experienced and confident in work independent as well as work with and through others;
• Fluent English in spoken and written;
• Good communicator both verbally and in written;
• Team player who seeks for solutions, not problems;
• Good to have auditing knowledge, skills and/or experience
