The successful applicant will be required to:
As a Stormwater Engineer in our Water Resources team, you will provide technical and specialist analysis and design support in the area of stormwater drainage, hydrology and flood management for a wide range of infrastructure projects including road, rail and urban development in Africa and around the world.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake:
- Hydrological analysis of storm rainfall
- Hydrological and hydraulic analysis of catchment runoff and watercourses
- Hydraulic modelling and design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, scour protection and other flood control structures
- Sustainable urban drainage system design
- Preparation of project specifications, bill of quantities and tender documentation
- Stormwater master planning and flood risk assessments
Requirements
- BSc in civil engineering, or equivalent
- Three to six years' experience in a similar role - essential
- Experience in hydrological studies, hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater drainage infrastructure such as culverts and bridges - advantageous
- Experience in the design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, erosion protection, flood control structures and runoff treatment and management devices β advantageous
- Knowledge of detailed road drainage design and multi-disciplinary interfaces - advantageous;
- Experience in the use of drainage analysis and associated design software technology applications (e.g. HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, PCSWMM, Autocad, Civil 3D, GIS etc.) - highly advantageous
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
