Senior Animator

The Senior Animator creates animation for characters and/or objects based on rigged 3D models and contributes to the visual elements of the gameplay and/or cutscenes in line with the project’s art direction.

Responsibilities :

• Create high-quality animations while optimizing them to meet technical constraints and making any changes requested based on the artistic direction
• Work closely with riggers, animators, art direction, designers, and programmers to understand gameplay intentions and achieve main objective
• Propose animation systems adapted to the needs of the game by collaborating with the project team
• Be transparent about the potential problems related to animations
• Quickly make prototypes that will serve as the basis for animation and gameplay-related discussions
• Estimate and manage the time required to carry out tasks within deadlines
• Research and make documentation to improve suggestions

Requirements

• Preferably with a college diploma in 3D for video games or equivalent
• Experience in making video game animation; preferably via Maya
• Experience with Unity game engine is highly appreciated
• Aesthetic sense & attention to detail, ideally in cinematics and/or cartoons
• In-depth understanding of movement in space
• Deep understanding of anatomy and motion
• Ability to adapt to change, flexibility, and open-minded
• Clear communication skills to receive, seek and provide constructive criticism
• Good written and verbal English

Nice to have :

• Experience with animBot/aTools (for Maya)
• Experience with Studio Library Tool (for Maya)
• Able to exploit existing animation systems to build animations used across several rigs/outfits with minimum rework.
• Preference in cartoon animations with a humorous edge
• Additional languages; preferably French and/or Vietnamese
