ROLE SUMMARY

The Global Data Planning, Acquisition and Innovation Team, part of Pfizer Digital, is responsible for developing and executing an enterprise wide data strategy and roadmap that will drive data accessibility, adoption, utilization and deployment through supporting processes such as training and knowledge sharing to ensure that Pfizer can leverage and benefit from data assets and analytics programs.

This role works to identify, negotiate, acquire, and optimize external Real World Data and Commercial data assets and enable them in a way that are fit for business purpose, as well as increase their utilization. This role will be working in a multi-faceted, fast paced, cross-functional environment interfacing with both external vendors and internal business partners.

This is a highly visible role responsible for engaging with partners in various business functions to identify external data. This includes surveillance of public, syndicated, and partner data trends that may facilitate the development of innovative analytics opportunities. This role will have advanced understanding of the inner workings of the commercial and medical business. In addition, the role will be responsible for coordination of data assets to optimize the efficiency of data investments.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordination of Data acquisition plans across countries.
  • Portfolio management of EMEA Commercial data primarily.
  • Portfolio management of EMEA RWD data secondarily.
  • Oversee commercial and RWD data spends with Budget allocation and tracking per BU.
  • Liaise, partner and negotiate with external data vendors.
  • Partner with an extensive network of internal stakeholders, of scientific and commercial functions.
  • Partner with Procurement on data contracts and sourcing activities, including quality of deliverables and internal questions on data integrity and completeness.
  • Respond to enquiries from Global and Local stakeholders. Escalate to the EMEA Data Lead as required.
  • Document and provide data literacy on Commercial assets using the Pfizer Enterprise catalog.
  • Competitive intelligence and data evaluation for new innovative data products or alternatives data sources.
  • Maintain relationships with Commercial / RWD data suppliers, including quality of deliverables and internal questions on data integrity and completeness
  • Provide expert guidance on how data can be used and the types of business questions to be addressed.
  • Participate in AI and data innovation projects as required (approx. 25% of time).
  • Act as a Global liaison for data market intelligence and regulatory initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required : Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics/Data Science, Economics or related subject.
  • 5+ years of multi-discipline experience across scientific, technological, and management themes.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent project-related experience.
  • Scientific, or commercial, or technology, or business background.
  • Experience with BI tools, data visualization software, Microsoft office 360 super user.
  • Previous exposure to Commercial data and associated use cases.
  • Strong financial acumen, with a track record of responsibility for managing data budgets and spend.
  • Very good verbal, written communication and organizational skills, along with interpersonal skills that allow for collaboration across a diverse group of people.
  • Data savvy with an analytical mindset.
  • Fluent in English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree holders with a focus in Information Systems, Bioinformatics, Public Health, Analytics, Engineering, or Procurement.

  • Experience with pharmaceutical sales & HCP data.

  • Experience in commercial functions.

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical business.

  • Vendor management skills, with a history of working with procurement and managing data contracts.
