Software Engineer II

Overview:

• Leading AI-driven Global Supply Chain Solutions Software Product Company and one of Glassdoor’s “Best Places to Work”
• Seeking an astute individual that has a good SCP foundation, experience in enterprise application software development with the additional ability to be hands-on with the broader engineering team as part of the development/deployment cycle, and deep knowledge of industry best practices, with the ability to implement them working with both the platform, and the product teams.

Scope:

• As Software Engineer II acts as technical developer and follow the best practices for designing and developing the Java/J2EE based services, UI for product development team and supports the requests from customer.
• Owns the complete low-level design and development activities

Our current technical environment:

• Software: Java/J2EE, web application development, ReactJS, Gradle, GitHub
• Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event driven, secure multi-tenant distributed Microservices architecture
• Cloud Framework: Azure, Kafka, Apache Ignite, event hubs
• Database/Datastore: Oracle, Snowflake

Required Skill set:

• Programming: Java, SpringBoot, Junit,
  • Good to have exposure to UI development using react.
• Application Server: Tomcat or any other application server working exposure
• Database/Datastore: Snowflake, Oracle
• Cloud: Preferred to have working experience in Azure.
• CI/CD: Docker, working experience of using GitHub and exposure to yml and GitHub Actions for build and deploy

What you’ll do:

• Develops quality software according to clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards and writes effective test cases.
• Autonomously pulls issues from the team backlog or supports other team members with their issues as appropriate.
• Owns the deliverable end to end.
• Participates in team activities such as backlog grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Understands basic functional and technical requirements of software components.
• Contributes to designs of individual stories.
• Add test cases for the stories or issues developed and participate in build and deployment.
• Continuously improves themselves and the code they produce.
• Incorporates aspects of information security in their own work.
• Develops an understanding of how changes in the team’s deliverables affect other teams and the customer.
• Identifies operational issues and brings them to the attention of the team.
• Independently resolves incidents around a limited set of service functions.
• Demonstrates problem solving and innovation ability.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree and minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in Software development; ideally a candidate that has worked on Multi-tenant SAAS solutions.
• Strong analytical skills and applying the same to solve the business problems.
• Understands the best practices in SAAS software development and deployment.
• Very good communication skills to interact with customer/services to understand their problem and provide the solution.
• Experience in addressing business queries both from internal and external sources
