Software Developer Trainee responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code in various languages, like Java, or .NET programming languages (e.g. C++ or JScript.NET.) Our ideal candidates are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
  • Write well-designed, testable code.
  • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
  • Document and maintain software functionality.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
  • Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback.
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards.
  • Ensure the software is updated with the latest features.
  • Maintain and make proper use of the library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.
  • Perform the necessary database design work to meet software development requirements.
  • Create or review technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of solutions.
  • Develop products, modules, or custom applications according to quality standards.
  • Ensure product/project quality through validation of requirements prior to turnover to the customer.
  • Perform other tasks related to organization or customer activities, as assigned by Supervisor.

Who You Are:

  • University degree or college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems in process.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer.
  • Experience designing interactive applications.
  • Ability to develop software in Java, Ruby on Rails, C++, or other programming languages.
  • Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
  • Experience developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC)
  • Experience with test-driven development.
  • Proficiency in software engineering tools.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications.
  • Flexible during times of change, and deadline proximities.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills both in Spanish and English.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access).
  • Experience working with customer-facing business functions.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • High level/sense of professionalism.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Focus on ownership and accountability.

Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of problem analysis, structured analysis, and design and programming techniques. A good grounding in development best practice skills, including requirements definition, analysis, design, testing, implementation, documentation, and support.

  • Knowledge of programming languages, including C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, TSQL (HTML,JS, CSS)

  • Appropriate use of technologies and tools available for the company based on product, project, or solution needs.

  • Ability to perform detailed data analysis (i.e., determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples)

  • Applied knowledge of object-oriented design principals and implementation.
