Director of Legal

We’re looking for our next Director of Legal to join our team. You will be responsible for owning all legal aspects of our journey, such as the legal aspects of the development of the company's offering, the contract redlining process for incoming clients, and following up on ongoing contracts and negotiations. This is a fully remote opportunity.

What you’ll do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts
• Support leadership with new initiatives, including product development and intellectual property matters
• Provide support in the intake-to-procure processes for Graphite’s vendors, including onboarding
• Identification of legal issues and risks that may affect Graphite
• Follow up on regulatory matters
• Work along with an international team of lawyers to establish contract templates and workstreams
• Be the main point of contact with our external law firm and lead our in-house legal team
• NDA analysis and tracking

What you’ll need

• Law Degree
• 8+ years of experience in similar roles in-house or in a Law firm
• LLM from a university in the United States
• Strong knowledge of Commercial Law. Knowledge of Corporate, Labor, or IP Law is highly desirable
• Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial contracts, with a pragmatic and commercial approach, in English
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask & prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with startups and high-growth companies is a plus, with involvement in M&A and/or Venture Capital transactions being a strong plus
• Experience working with companies based out of the United States or doing business in the US
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proactive, highly organized, and with a sense of urgency
