We are currently seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer this position manages quality and manufacturing aspects for powertrain manufacturing processes as well as for Incoming quality for powertrain material, it'd be key internal interface between manufacturing, engineering, and supplier quality to deliver world class quality products. You will be qualifying manufacturing processes and will be translating the voice of the customer to process specifications and supporting or leading root cause investigations for quality issues as well.

You Will:

  • Support Quality Operating System implementation and execution within Powertrain area (Control Plan, PFMEA, Quality Procedures)
  • Evaluate & modify Control Plans and auditing strategies based on risk assessments and data from the factory and field
  • Constant work with cross functional teams to work on reducing and eliminate defects contained on the single agenda for quality
  • Manage and own all quality metrics reporting and publishing, as well as presenting data and improvement planning to the factory leadership
  • Maintain and manage Control Plans and auditing strategies based on risk assessments and data from the factory and field
  • Validate and characterize new inspection processes and equipment focused on improve quality system
  • Support creation of detailed manufacturing instructions to document quality critical characteristics
  • Support on designing production and inspection workstations for quality
  • Support strategy to align Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and Engineering to improve Process Manufacturing Quality
  • Focus on continuously improve factory detection capability
  • Strong part acceptance criteria knowledge
  • Create and implement departmental processes such as control and reaction plans to protect factory’s quality & delivery
  • Close interaction with supply chain team & suppliers to align requirements and expectations. Goal is to develop supplier on achieving a solid quality output with a proactive mindset
  • Participate on investigation for supplier quality issues to determine root cause, identify and implement corrective actions, drive sustained long-term permanent and preventive actions and forge excellent cross-functional relationships with supplier chain team
  • Travel up to 25%, occasionally on short notice

You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • 5+ years of equivalent experience required in the automotive Industry required
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build outstanding teams and interface well with senior management
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Kaizen 5S, and Six Sigma process
  • Capability to implement and drive a quality operating system within the Quality Control department
  • Experience in powertrain manufacturing environment
  • Ability to create improvement plans for quality with productive areas to achieve desired results
  • Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities
