Data Analyst

AECOM is seeking a results-driven Data Analyst who thrives in both team environments and independently. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to drive actionable insights and optimize business processes, ensuring measurable impact and continuous improvement.

This position requires an ambitious, self-motivated Data Analyst to work on a variety of tasks and projects. The primary focus will be to engage in the business and clients with strong communication skills to maximize value from data analytics and support the team’s capability and growth, while enabling the wider organization.

This position offers a flexible work option to include a combination of both office and remote work schedules and will be based from our office in Bucharest, Romania.

• Deliver Actionable Insights: Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to provide ongoing, impactful reports that drive business decisions.
• Optimize Efficiency: Develop and implement data analyses, collection systems, and strategies to enhance statistical efficiency and quality, leading to operational improvements.
• Extract and Interpret Data: Utilize data mining techniques to uncover correlations and patterns, identifying trends that inform strategic initiatives.
• Transform Data into Insights: Organize and transform complex data sets into clear, actionable insights that support predictive analytics and business forecasting.
• Visualize Data for Decision-Making: Use advanced tools and techniques to visualize data, creating intuitive dashboards and reports that inform stakeholders and guide decision-making.
• Present and Communicate Findings: Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings to management and clients, translating complex data into understandable insights.
• Innovate and Automate Processes: Identify opportunities to automate processes and recommend innovative solutions to streamline business operations and enhance efficiency.
• Ensure Data Quality: Develop and monitor processes to ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability.
• Report Development: Build paginated reports in Power BI Report Builder or SSRS, ensuring accurate and timely information delivery.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders to understand data content, business requirements, and deliver tailored insights that meet their needs.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 5-7 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst, demonstrating a track record of delivering impactful insights.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in data models, data cleaning, structuring, data mining, and segmentation techniques. Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis.
• Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of database design, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Reporting and Visualization: Experience in structuring Power BI data models, building reports, and dashboards. Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools.
• Analytical Abilities: Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings that drive business outcomes.
• Adaptability: Quick learner of new software and technologies, with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team environment.
• DAX Expertise: Experience creating Calculated Tables, Calculated Columns, and Measures using DAX.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Reporting Skills: Knowledge of reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.), databases (SQL, etc.), and programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
• Web Development Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing previous web development work.
• Chatbot Experience: Exposure to chatbots with Power Virtual Agent
