About the Role

The Conversion team at Udemy is focused on empowering learners to effortlessly discover, select, and purchase the best learning solutions to achieve their goals. Our focus is on crafting seamless customer journeys filled with rich, relevant content.

As a Software Engineer on the Conversion Team at Udemy, your main task will be enhancing our technology architecture and landing experiences through bold initiatives guided by data-centric experimentations. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth creation and delivery of contents to millions of learners worldwide. Collaboration with product, design, and data teams will be key as we aim to create landing experiences that prioritize ease-of-use and personalization. This position offers thrilling challenges at the heart of Udemy's mission. We're seeking an engineer who can help define and amplify the core value of our products on a global scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working with your team along with your cross-functional partners in product, design, data science, and others to help define a roadmap, deliver features, drive execution, and identify areas for development.
  • Using skills like driving results, analytical problem solving, decision making, and active listening to effectively drive execution.
  • Implement new front-end experiences with back-end services served over GraphQL.
  • Participate in code reviews making sure that our code is well designed, tested, robust, secure, and performant.
  • Incorporate Experiment-Driven development in your daily work in order to improve overall customer journey.
  • Participate in daily standup team meetings/bi-weekly sprint planning & sprint-end demo/retrospective and work cross-functionally with other teams to drive product innovation.

What You’ll Have

  • B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of full-time engineering experience
  • Demonstrated abilities in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Understanding of React, including React Hooks & Functional Components (or equivalent front-end frameworks)
  • Experience designing scalable, secure and performant APIs (REST/GraphQL/gRPC)
  • Willingness to learn and operate across the stack with Front End and Web Performance focuses
  • Experience working with medium-sized agile development teams
  • Well organized, disciplined, and able to manage time and priorities effectively
