Head of Finance

Upright is in search of an exceptional Head of Finance to join our team as we continue growing and scaling our operations. Impact data is becoming increasingly central in business decision-making and Upright's data is trusted by 200+ institutional investment organizations and corporations, predominantly in Europe and Northern America. We are now seeking a dynamic individual with relevant experience and a hands-on approach to join the team as Upright’s first Head of Finance.

This pivotal role offers a unique blend of complete ownership, autonomy, and hands-on execution, making it ideal for high achievers with diverse skill sets who thrive in independent environments. With our finance infrastructure already established, we are seeking a Head of Finance to propel our finance operations to the next level as we continue to scale our business. Leading the finance function, this role also involves sole responsibility for execution, requiring the drive to independently oversee all planning and tasks.

As the Head of Finance at Upright, you'll have the chance to optimize processes, oversee all financial operations, and collaborate with various teams on tasks such as budgeting, forecasting, revenue collection, and generating financial reports for board meetings, among other responsibilities.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Taking full ownership of finance processes, including setting the vision and direction for financial operations, and independently managing day-to-day operations
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining effective strategies for revenue collection, including accounts payable and receivable, as well as invoicing
• Leading financial budgeting, forecasting, and reporting efforts
• Ensuring legal compliance in all financial activities
• Providing strategic business support to other functions
• Collaborating with stakeholders, including our bookkeeping partner to facilitate bookkeeping and prepare financial statements

• Possessing relevant experience in finance, demonstrating a track record or willingness to assume responsibility for the entire finance function
• Experience or knowledge of fast-paced growth companies
• Ability to work independently in an autonomous work environment and successfully take ownership of financial processes and decision-making
• Strong analytical skills for generating and interpreting financial data for reporting and strategic planning
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
• Solid track record of internal passion for excellence: you have gotten things done clearly better than what was required/expected from you
• A sense of urgency and drive to get the job done
• Exceptional communication skills in Finnish and English, both spoken and written
