JR49796 Quality Engineering Manager

As a Global Quality, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Effective Problem Solving Manager in the Quality Management Office at Micron Technology, Inc., you will collaborate with leaders and team members across the organization and throughout the world. Your aim will be to satisfy the customer and key collaborators through timely and effective resolution of Micron’s most difficult problems.

This is a collaborative role with meaningful interfaces across product development, engineering, and operations. You must have strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively to a broad audience including senior leaders across the organization.

System Problem solver

Able to see the big picture and able to grasp the association of different elements that make up one whole. This means you have the ability to see how elements within a system change over time, generating patterns and trends.

Strong Decision-maker

Know how to effectively problem solve and use critical thinking skills that help find solutions to problems.

Project Management

Work ethic, responsiveness, and results orientation matter! With everyone driving hard to achieve the company’s goals, it is essential to have strong project planning and structured approaches to big decisions.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Be a People Manager:

  • Assist in the development of team members reporting to you.
  • Set high standards of excellence and hold your team accountable.
  • Frequently check in with team members on a one-on-one basis. Provide feedback to team members in real time.
  • Reward and recognize positive impacts.
  • Empower and mentor team members to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Promote teamwork.

Be a Process Owner:

  • Develop and drive performance metrics.
  • Manage the process from end-to-end and understand its relationships within a system of processes.
  • Manager strategic projects, which includes managing collaborator feedback and project selection.
  • Lead business process engineering efforts to simplify and streamline the process.
  • Coach and guide team members on timely and effective execution of the process.

Be a guide in Problem Solving:

  • Be accountable for the success of problem solving specific to customer issues.
  • Collaborate with local teams and remove roadblocks to resolving problems.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Effective Problem Solving and hold collaborators accountable.
  • Have a firm grasp of 8D methodology.
  • The ability to interpret and effectively resolve sophisticated, technical or ambiguous requests and problems.
  • Experience coordinating continuous improvement programs/project and efforts across many different project groups.

Be able to Manage the Customer Experience:

  • Identify customer needs, respond to customer queries and issues, and collaborate with customer facing team to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure closed-loop sharing of lessons learned.

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ Years of Experience

Desired

  • Knowledge of semiconductor, automotive industry, or other related manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Micron’s Quality Management System
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain activities
